One's wealthy, the other is a poverty-stricken man. The rich isn't happy, the poor is contented. Why is or rather why can the rich even feel dull? And even more frustrating, how can the poor score a higher scale of happiness than the rich?

Definitely, this isn't universally applicable in all scenarios. But this is a mad world we are living in.

The free-wheeling single-sized bed, dressed neatly in pale white sheets, with thin linen blanket neatly folded at the end that parked at the corner of the gloomy lights-off room that obeys the rather primitive methodology conferred to cavemen, would easily go unnoticed to others. But not me. Not me.

The hospice bed, one amongst many other similar ones once held victims or revelers. I took measured steps similar to a soldier in a war field, inching closer to it. I remembered those labored breaths I took while in captivity. Like diffusion, it nearly took me along.

Those were the days I would never forget, even if given a choice..

Not too close, for it might bite. Too close and it might feed on your soul. I was accompanied by a guardian angel while warded. She prayed with me, and for me. Somehow I felt it was more of an exorcism. However, seeking treatment was the only thing they had in common. Except that, one would be in a state of trance, and the other in tears. Of course, the latter.

She couldn't remember me or probably didn't notice my return months later, but I could instinctively and gratefully remember her. Overflowed with gratitude at that very moment. If it isn't for you, then....

Probably 2 years back, the one greeting that filled the air was 'happy niu year'. Haha. This year being the dragon year, there isn't so much of a wordplay anymore. long ni xin nian maybe.

Has a long week. I, listened to their mitigation pleas, cuffed a detainee for the first time in my life and sent them packing to detention barracks. That's just a fraction of my tough yet interesting job.

Going for boating lessons soon. And also maybe German language and horse-riding. Life is finally starting to pay me back dividends.

Time should not be spent sleeping, instead learning.

I starting to wonder if my lecturer, by any chance have blood ties with Morrie Schwartz. The resemblance is uncanny. The receding hairline that spells trouble to any man. The way he puts on that smile. And when he laughs, its all silent.

Ok. If I gotta reiterate, I will gladly do so.
I don't photoshop nor have it.
This was shot after I stopped training for a week.
In addition, I don't train abs at all from the beginning.
Dieting sure did helped. But the past few weeks, pringles, kfc and hawker food all seem to me like can tuna in water. As we know, its tremendously stressful when you try to strike a perfect balance between work and studies.

This afternoon(10jan) , a reservist NSman collapsed while running, and unfortunately passed away. Unprecedented, the casual everyday conversation he had with his family were actually his last words. That's what saddens me the most. I was working on his case in office today.

It's a brand new year. Year 2012. Like a pristine glass, just sitting there nicely waiting to have fingerprints smudged all over it then shattered. At first blush, one might think it presents new opportunities and probably a change for the better. Contain your excitement, for it might probably be the last.

Also, with the passing of a terribad 2011 to present opportunities laden new 2012, everyone's definitely coming up with their own tailor-made wish list.

I formulated mine yesterday(31dec'11)

Primary
1) Spend more time on the piano.
2) Explore the vulnerable blue planet. ( Not major cities, because it's too mainstreamed. Alaska, lake toba, Rio de Janerio(exception), just to name a few. I rather be in a jungle than a concrete jungle.)
3) Get into uni and start studying.
4) Get a part-time job before uni begins.

Secondary
1) Workouts. (I'm probably giving it up altogether, else reducing by a significant amount.)
2) Do whatever that makes me a happier person. Legal laws still bonded.

This year, probably being the last, I have divided the year into 4 parts. By the end of every quarter, I ought to have achieved something. Its crucial, for it being the last.

Due to matters of heart, I languished the entire 2011. I am not letting the past catch up with me.

After not opening the books and stabbing the buttons of a financial calculator for nearly 2 years, 27th December was quite a milestone. Tuesday (27dec'11) was the first lesson and to sum it off, I was lost in the woods then dismembered, and eaten inside out. Literally

To avoid finishing last in the rat race, studying at this hour is the only and last resort.

Currently, several easy going army colleagues and I are working under 2 female bosses. Life's tremendously better now compared to a month ago. However I have been eating a lot recently, during and after office hours.. And my body acts like a sponge, absorbing everything it could. Unless I rectify my eating habit, I am 100% sure that I will balloon in just merely 3weeks, and hell.. this is already the 2nd week.. nom nom nom..

Well, it's the stress factor that's causing it.. I am bogged down by the workload thrown at me. Being green isn't the excuse and it doesn't help a single bit.

But, at least I am happier. Keeping myself busy round-the-clock whenever possible.

In case if anyone is wondering.. 10-20mins is roughly the time I take to compose a blog post. I don't know if its long or short.

Here's the breakdown.
10mins of thinking ( Often I grill myself )
5-8mins of executing
3-5mins of reading and correcting..

And this took me 5mins to compose.

Lesson begins on 27th dec, can't wait :)

So after 3-4 months of no-show at the gym, he finally emereged with the same ferocity and cool as ice demeanour. Curious, I paused and watched on as he did his workout. I couldn't be more than pleased and delighted at that moment. Not that I'm gay but.. He was lifting the same weight as me else slightly lighter. Roughly 3-4months ago, I used to think how awesome if I were his built..

Times have changed, and the tides have turned. Either he shrunk or I grew bigger. But I would like to think the latter. Dog-tired from the workout, I made for the exit, pushed the door open with a wide contented smile. My day was completed :)

Rumours can sometimes be true and devastating. And it took on the form of reality this very evening. By 5th dec, I will be posted to another unit.

At the E-PREP seminar today, I made an amazing discovery and the experience was exuberant I would say. I had a stroke of luck in locating my mates from Tekong albeit a hand few amongst the vast sea of soldiers? Probably it was skill that I was able to sniff them out, but it doesn't matter after all. Haha. It would be a much more enjoyable afternoon if the location wasn't in an army camp.

4 months BMT mates

DAMN. It would be awesome several months back, or a year back but now it kinda suck. My friends whom some I call mates will probably never have that kind of unguarded interaction we so often used to share again. 3 months to ORD, yet I will miss the chance to rejoice together. Those cherished moments of gossiping, playing, doing silly stuffs and working together as a team will cease as of 5th dec.

The grass is always greener on the other side. How true?

I will probably get busy when I jump ship. Hopefully still having the time to work out. And I am going to spend my time wisely by taking language courses since I will be booking out everyday. German, I reckon is good.

New environment, new superiors, new colleagues and also a new beginning towards the sweet ending. Maybe it won't be like all before, but at least its all new.

Today marks the 5th month of my training. I did managed to cling on, stay devoted and true to it as promised.

Eating alone in camp, not an uncommon sight. Dinner menu was Nasi Lemak. The plate sat in front of me, something uncommon. I was eating quietly, but inside, it was tumult all over.

'When was the last time I had such guilt food while being alone?' My mind definitely stumped me. Probably 1-2months ago. In the end, I polished off the entire plate.

Today's workout was hellish, amounting to an hour or so, but still I felt ecstatic. When attempting and struggling at last set of the decline press, the orange neon lights above akin to scintillating stars were blocked out by the cold iron bars my weary arms were supporting to produce a phenomenal eclipse - My world was enveloped by darkness for a split second but it certainly felt like forever.

I nearly broke down if not for the people around. Questions flooded my mind like a wave of tsunami. But only the pressing and most disturbing question I could recollect from the ruins is..

Why am I doing this?

Bear with me.. I ain't a pro builder nor aspiring to be one. However, I work feverishly during every scheduled workout calender day. I don't fear the weights crumbling down on me like asteroids smashing earth, or even a cardiac arrest.

When you are at my stage, you would probably do things with all that sheer will and determination you never thought you should, could, and would ever possess.

Probably the suitable answer will be - I am shattered inside. And I need to work on the exterior first before the interior.

It's always at this unearthly hour that my brain fails to reason things and set my thoughts rambling. I am thinking way too much for someone with such a strong foothold in various ways - Much more than a dying man trying to reminisce and savour every last moments given before the clock robs him of his time.

"I always felt like a square peg trying to fit in a round hole" I found this line meaningful, as if to say we are all taking multiple personalities to be what others want of us. Simply put - We are all doing what we do best. Acting, pretending and faking it with flair.

I was having lunch with a fair-weather friend just after gym. Upon seeing how I removed the skin from the meat, shun away from the carbs and gravy, he commented, 'I feel sad for you.' It didn't take more than 3seconds for an honest reply to echo out from my throat or maybe heart. 'Don't be, because I don't feel that way of myself.'

I never thought of myself to be larger than life, at least in these 'down to earth' and 'realise yourself' months. I don't feel big physically, but I will be if I keep up with my training.

Bigger, faster, stronger. Yet weakest inside. But I will learn to cope.

I am glad my rants and also undeniably gay FB posts have eventually stopped. It must have taken a toll on everyone, my apologies. It shifted over to here.

Pain is so close to pleasure. I started working out, went on a periodic diet, and also lost myself in the midst. I love the kick when I workout. It helps suppresses your troubles. Like how in the game hide&seek we often enjoy when we were younger - (You will be found eventually, no matter what) This became a drug that I forcibly took without any remorse on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
And for the remaining 3 days when the pills have ran out due to over-abuse and will only restock at the start of a new week, I simply wanted myself back, to feel again and also just not to lose myself completely. I was perhaps being subhuman. I could easily mutter a curse and walk out. But I can't, because I am already hooked.

After the curtain came down on my past relationship, I knew I needed a change. I wanted everything new, and I tried too hard and didn't pull it off well in the early stages. I was blinded by revenge that I grew relentless in my pursuit. I did achieve something but sadly, I realised it wasn't what I wanted. This is where the disappointment comes in, I hit a wall.

I never wanted anything. The only exception, I still wanted you to be happy. I must be crazy to even allow myself to do that.

'Nothing lasts forever, my friend' - This line, still resonating strongly in my head.

I really contemplated hard if I should post this. tbc one day.

Every time when I come here, there's either an issue or an occasion that I would like to include in this space. Just before I log on, I will remind myself to bare my heart and speak the truth of what I write.

This place has became home to my thoughts and journeys ever since my meltdown. Truth always hurt don't they? But its better that way than to have a pricking conscience.

For those who's reading, there is absolutely no crime in being emo and safely to say its perfectly fine. Just don't hold on to it for too long else you would feel the drag. I learnt from somewhere that having a cry a day is fine and surprisingly it helps, just like how having an apple a day keeps the doc away. Sounds funny but yeah, this isn't Ripley's Believe It or Not anyway.

Don't attempt if you are OK.

You see, this was actually meant for some people, not everyone, and most importantly for myself to look back when I turn grey and old. All those precious little moments that are worth even more than numerous carat diamonds.

Right now, I guess I am hitting healthy figures and I can safely conclude that this is safe haven until it gets massively patronised - Hopefully not.

As I flipped Tuesdays with Morrie to a heartening close, I got out of bed, switched off the bedside lamp and walked out closing the door behind me exactly how the way I wrapped up the best-selling book. I closed the chapter of my past relationship.

Everything in life feels so inconsequential when you are about to let go apart from friends and family. We are constantly pursuing what the culture of our society taught us since birth, and we often tend to overlook what really matters until death comes knocking.

I am fortunate that I can talk, argue about life with him, sometimes even crying. We wouldn't feel embarrassed to hide our feelings, or get onto the touchy topics most best pals would shun away. He is one special friend that I am glad I met in life. One such, to me triumphs over having heaps of friends. It made everything so special and meaningful.

Willingness to accept things for the way they. Giving out love, and also allowing it in.

Sitting down alone on the concrete stairway, adjacent to some people, I thought of you - yet again. How during my lowest point of my life, you vehemently said you wouldn't be there for me when I tearily asked with all pride and ego set aside. Felt like I have been stabbed and nothing could stop the bleeding.

The weeks of drought finally ended when tears once again uncontrollably streamed down my cheeks. It reaffirmed one thing. I wasn't feigning it.

I stood up soon after, wiped my tears away and walked off because the show had ended. I will learn to embrace life now.

All these while, or rather months.. I've been emotional, highly volatile and such. I hate it. I haven't been like myself anymore. I am extremely troubled. Hard to tell eh? This 'can't be fuck' facade of mine finally has gravity acting on it - Its losing grip..

I was NEVER used to blogging about such revelations because no one cares what are you going through. Share your joy but never your worries, true enough. Some have been there for me all these while, thank you so much. Jeffry, you witnessed all my moments; Saw me cry for the first and the numerous times.. Though you don't always reply my bbm msgs, I know you are always there. One I could trust completely. I feel that I'm kinda indebted to you. Sorry for the foul attitude I displayed all these while, but hey, I am being myself.. Take care of yourself in Indonesia, I'm sure we will meet again soon.
Also, if not for you guys, I would have fallen really badly, really really thanks for mitigating the effect of the fall.

To be honest, I tried very hard even when I knew everything was falling apart but eventually I couldn't salvage this. I question my abilities, efforts and even myself and I wasn't able to produce an answer convincing enough to redeem myself. I really hated myself for how everything went. Stuck up, arrogant, proud. Yea, I don't deny. I was brought up in a quite a well-to-do family. I have everything most people could only wish for. But... after all that had happened, I finally came to realise many things and the mechanics behind it. Maybe it's too late.

I hope you love the song I played for you, it's our song. I think that may just be my best ever present to you. I will be playing the song again and again but at this point of time, it will be just for myself to hear.

This period and what is about to come will be extremely tough and painful.. I have been masquerading and languishing all these while... Every sleepless night, comes with a nightmare. The merciless blows of reality hits me really hard and often I wet my bed, with my tears. It made me think, if the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I ever had.

And frankly, I am not here to gain sympathy. I just needed to share something that I've been bottling up since last dec.

Like how it goes, 'all good things will eventually come to an end'. This journey was epic. I have never experienced something so magical and mystical like this and I am glad that it was you I walked with. You brought me to a whole new world and that is also how it became our song. Now, I have to learn that you are gone but these memories will always be in me. I wish I can carry on writing a little more in THIS paragraph, but I am already tearing as I end this line.

Now that I finally realised.. Time doesn't actually flies, it walks slowly.

It's has only been 6, close to 7 short months since I enlisted into the army, lost touch with many and miles away from civilization. I always wanted to blog frequently, and then look back to see how interesting or dull my life is.

I've so many things to share, but just couldn't get the pieces together to tell the tale.. Basically, I pretty contented with my life right now. Army, it's a love and hate affair, really really complicated and baffled by it. Hmm.. over these months I have experience many different things but I just can't remember.

Fancy staying in the East and yr camp is at Mandai. It's like going to zoo every book in, except you don't get to see animals. But there's monsters over there anyway, damn! Thankfully, I got some BMT mates over there with me.

This is still my first week over there, and there's a hell lot of running, PT and pretty decent food. Our battalion will be taking part in the YOGames so training will be disrupted for the weeks to come until YOG ends. My role - Road Marshall together w tengtingshien ha ha :)

2 more weeks to POP, Wonderful! Throughout the many weeks, I made some great friends and really had fun training alongside w them, though tough at times.
Miss those AGR, speed training, aqua jogging, cadence run and pull up regime :)
Looking back, I have made some improvements...

5chin ups to 16~17, 9m30s for 2.4km. these are my biggest achievements :)
However, just made the cut for SBJ :( , tho everything's already standing tall at gold standard.

So I'll be enjoying my off in lieu and holidays before I eventually book in on Sunday.

Figuring out that I have only 3 weeks left, I decided to stay home today and reconsider how I should spend this remaining days.
I saw a big red packet stuffed with wad of notes this morning on my laptop. It was from my elder brother, wishing me a wonderful 21st. I was touched, because I broke the news to them yesterday that I'll be leaving on 5th March and they responded so quickly. My bdae is on the 8th, and there's no way I could celebrate on that joyous date =( My eldest sis asked me to choose a present while my 2nd sis in the states asked me to source for a gift for herself, lol.

Came back from a vigorous jog, managed to down the time from 55mins to 45mins traveling the same distance =)

Caught 72 Tenants of Prosperity with dil at kallang. My bed is so possessive, every morning blah blah blah. To bed, nights

Came back from a 55min jog! Same distance as yesterday! Wooo!

Going the extra mile, with the nike lunar series shoes. Amassed a distance of more than 4kms & tens of minutes of burning rubber. Amazingly with that shoes, I'm able to maintain consistency while running and keep my feet off the ground every fraction of a second until I return home =)
It's been a long time since I ran that far without stopping, and when I returned home, I was drenched in sweat. Took off my top, gave it a twist and managed to churn out 4 good squeeze of pure effort, determination and perspiration =)

It's not me who call the shots, it's the shoe. hehe

Ok, that aside... Today, 6 Feb'10, Saturday, had breakfast w b at old airport. Everything was good, but felt that the hokkien mee was a rip off. Went to PP after to shop for some clothing before picking dil, rus & jeffry up to catch the Air Show 2010. Embarked on a long trip, and didn't manage to get a parking lot near the vicinity, so we parked at Safra Resort and boarded a cab there. Despite having limited time, we still managed to roam some good bit of the area before sending Jeffry off to the airport. After which, we dined at Fish and Co located at the airport. Nerd jeffry didn't believe there's this outlet at the airport, and of course, lost the bet.

After the meal, sent B to the mrt, rus back home and headed to the tennis court w dil. Played for an hour or so before we decided to call it a night. Then I went for my jog. Pretty much for my day, and oh, 2 days back on Friday, I had my haircut.

Dil and I decided to continue playing tennis for another good hour or so. It was ard 10pm that our session came to a halt. While waiting for ben to get back home, we went for a dip in the pool. The weather was so chilling =] Chatted for a lil by the pool while before he vanishes off into the darkness. That was the very last of him =0

Arghh, my thighs hurt! I need them for my jump....
Went to pick dillon from the airport yest. He came back from Hat Yai, Thailand. Had dinner w his family and then played tennis :) Though its only an hour, I'm more than happy as I perspired a hell lot. Went to grab a drink at Beach Cabana before heading for supper.
Nothing after that, so we headed home for a good night of rest.

I really hate mindef and myself. Both for the identical reason - Delaying. Shall not go further.

Bad start during napfa on wed, my heart was thumping uncontrollably mad because I'm just nervous. Everything went fine, except for broad jump. I didn't make the cut, I just need 6 pathetic cms to make it. So mad, that I went to get a pair of shoes today(Thursday,28th Jan) @ ParkwayParade. The reason why I failed the broad jump is because of technique I assume, totally nothing to do with the shoes. Hah, lame.

Oh btw, the movie I watched with b, jeff and rus on Wed was pretty good. So good that I didn't relate to my recent dental visit. Damn right, its Tooth Fairy.

Ok and so today, Thursday, as usual, workout and then went for dinner with ben, steff, aye, weetong, jeff and rus @ Brussels Sprout. Wasn't the first time there, so we just got the usual stuffs like any other time. I had a tummy upset after eating, rushed back home and bomb-ed the toilet.

Caught the show, Hachiko few hours back at Leisure Park, Kallang. The true story revolves around the dog, its master and string of events that can even bring Jeffry and Rusdy to tears but not Aye and Wee Tong, hahaha. But its truly a heartwarming show.

Asked if whether I cried during the show, I said no. I just need the toilet, to let my tears out, its on high-tide with coke contributing a significant proportion. hehe

Just came back from RWS with bunch of mates. Mind-blowing structures etc etc. Saw the casino in Crawford towers (special admission) hahahah. Explored some wings of the hotel, heard stories of this and that. The security guy was kind enough to let us have an eye-opener and chat with us for quite some while, how cool. Got chased when I played the piano in the lobby, lol.

Ok folks, I've grown slimmer - as confirmed by the weighing scale and mirror :))
Sticking to a staple diet of tuna and low-fat food and occasionally sinful indulgences is both hell and heaven.

Summary of what I could remember.
Early morning of 16th Jan, my tyre punctured. Thirst for knowledge, we decided to change the tyre ourselves. It was made easier with Rusdy around. We had our meal after, at Jamal.

Hi, I'm back!

A 4hr + of pulsating match, esp in the 5 set. and the unforced error came from Roddick that gave Federer his record breaking 15th slam. How sweet =)

Downside? NO SOUND, sian. Reason? Too late. Thankfully that happened during the tiebreak of the fifth set.

Went to pick b from work and head for her job interview. Went to the wrong place, ended up not going and instead, went to vivo.
It was a fun day filled with laughters and some minor disputes..

Walked ard vivo, shopped a lil and then bus-ed home with b. Was kinda my first time really taking bus with b in a long long ----------------long time and i really mean longgggggg while =]

15th May - Graduation Day'09

Today was graduation day. Kinda had mix feelings throughout the day. Happy that I've graduated, bitter for the fact my future is bleak without a proper degree to my name. I realised it will be not like fish to water, but I promise, promise that I'll work doubly hard and get what I want. And that's a pact between me and my future.

Moods aside. After graduation, we had some photo-taking sessions but I didnt bring one and so had to rely on others, hahas. Our class had a mini gathering at marina square after that. Had our lunch there and yakked pretty much. They had bowling as some including me watched on. Alex, fy, pt and I left first.

Initial plans to catch up at Dempsey went on, but Alex & I were absent. Sry guys, but there's a match gg on at that time.

So Alex and I were at Holland Village on april15's night - watching tennis match between Federer and Roddick. Having a 17-2 record puts Federer at advantage and eventually he prevails =) We settled at WALA WALA, the ambience and crowd were perfect. Only downside was the lack of sound coming from the TV. & it ends at around 1030+

After our taekwondo lesson on thursday, we struck gold. We stumbled upon a restaurant famed for its culinary skills - Vis' a Vis'. Overall, a fine dining experience though we were soaked in sweat.

These days, my activities are turning into a chore.
Tennis, working and outings.
Can't hit the ball well, it sucks =( I don't play tourny but I can't help but to hate that feeling.
A job I still hold just took flight, probably because I don't really work for it.
Outings, an retreat action now losing its meaning, due to certain unprecedented circumstances.

In the open, capacious and secluded field, we sat. By the goalpost, the place where we withdrew to. Stars came in abundance, filling the entire moon-lit sky and we were supposedly and also compelled to star gazing =] The moon became our witness to our testimonial of truthfulness and love.

So after much talking, we went on to eat. Eating is perfectly fine but at 3+ doesnt seem that fine anymore, hehe. Steamboat @ bugis. Seemed like we two owned the place, only having 2 diners... How pathetic.. Fantastic music, titled breaking ice..

Taekwondo today was a mixture of running(85%) and pattern(15%)...
Ran like a dog...
Sweat like one too...
Ate like one too...
Chat(bark) like one too...
However, not a dog's life.

Yea, taekwondo today was quite fun... after that we went for dinner at bukit timah market and then sent michelle home along with alvin. We ltr decided that we shld have a chat, hahas totally unexpected. Made a turn to pick michelle, headed to Macs for some time till midnight I guess. We had many things to talk abt, mainly revolving around taekwondo.
Not satisfied with 2 heavy meals from bukit timah market and macs, alvin and I went to bedok blk85 for another round.. We spoke abt many issues till the wee hrs - 3am.

I felt like an advisor, a brilliant one.. tantamount to the wisdom of Zhu-ge Liang.. hahas

Went to sch today, gym and then taekwondo. Quite fun a day it was, learnt white belt pattern. Can't say I made a botch at my attempt to demonstrate the pattern, I think I did pretty ok, rite baby? Her pattern was obviously nicer and more complicated.. Following that, we went to have dinner at al-azar before I sent her home. Anyways pigs to share.

Yesterday, we held an annual birthday celebration for my grandma :) Happy b'dae grandma!

ok. I'm at Genting blogging right now at 2.22 a.m with alvin beside me playing some computer games. I'm super boredddd. The rest are clubbing, just a few units away from the unit I'm currently in. Bus journey was long and arduous? I guess so, looking at those terrains. Arrived around 5-6a.m and just wander aimlessly till we managed to check into our room at around 1pm. And darn, didnt bring some clothes to keep me warm.. and so its chilling me out, way too much :(
Actually we didnt do anything interesting, really. Most of our time were spent either walking aimlessly or eating or probably sleeping. However, we managed to catch a movie in the morning at 1030am before checking into our rooms - Kung Fu Chefs, on OSIM MASSAGE CHAIRS. How cool is that huh. But due to fatigue, I dozed off. After a short nap, we explored the shops, played some arcade and singing hah. Ok, its nothing interesting I know, so much for being truely asia.
